Brief overview of the subject before focusing on mapping a range of destinations, which appeal to different types of tourists before moving on to specific investigations into three locations, which would appeal to different types of tourists. This unit finishes with an assignment on planning UK holidays to meet the needs of different visitors During October, we begin preparation for the January examination Unit 1: The UK travel and tourism sector. Learners look at the importance of tourism to the UK economy, the different industries and organisations involved in the travel and tourism sector and how these link together There will be a mock examination in December |
Completion of Unit 2. Â This unit finishes with an assignment on planning UK holidays to meet the needs of different visitors
Unit 5: Factors affecting worldwide travel and tourism destinations. Here learners investigate how climate and worldwide time can affect the appeal of worldwide destinations. For example how might the recent hurricanes in the Atlantic Ocean affect people already on holiday at these destinations and how people wishing to travel to this area will be affected |
Unit 5 is concluded this term, learners will produce a presentation demonstrating how entry and exit requirements, health issues and emergency situations impact on people being able to travel |

Learners begin by mapping international Travel and Tourism destinations and gateways. We then move on to producing guides which show how different destination appeal to different types of visitor. These are based on European and worldwide destinations |
Unit 4 guides are completed before moving on to producing itineraries for a European and worldwide destination which meet the needs of different types of tourist |
