Charities

For Charity.” (the last words of Bishop Richard Challoner).

We have a number of groups that enable our community to put faith into action. Our Charities Team, led by Mrs O’Kelly, supports a number of charities every year. Many of these charities have benefited from our fundraising for decades, for example, CAFOD, Naomi House and Jacksplace, our sister school, St Bede’s in Bamenda, the Andover Foodbank.

We have been running the Faith in Action Award for the past three years and students have undertaken their bronze, silver and gold awards. These sessions, run by the Religious Studies department, are a wonderful space to grown in both reflective and active aspects of discipleship. Friendships are formed, gifts are developed, comfort zones challenged and faith is strengthened.

THE BRITISH LEGION POPPY APPEAL

Last year, The Royal British Legion asked the nation to Rethink Remembrance by recognising the sacrifices made not just by the Armed Forces of the past, but by today’s generation too. For many people, Remembrance is associated with the fallen of the First and Second World Wars. While we will always remember them, the Legion wants to raise awareness of a new generation of veterans and Service personnel that need our support
