Headteacher’s Welcome

Welcome to Bishop Challoner Catholic Secondary School.  We are an extraordinary community of individuals called to a common purpose.

Our mission in partnership with parents is the formation of our young people; to help them discover, nurture and celebrate their gifts, character and vocation in life. Our Catholic Christian foundations and ethos are the inspiration for all that we do.  Every member of our community is appreciated as a unique person made in the image and likeness of God, created with a definite purpose.

We are a forward looking, high performing, co-educational school of 900 pupils. We follow a rich curriculum which is both aspirational and inspirational. Students of all abilities are stretched, challenged and supported by our dedicated and highly talented teaching and support staff.  We are proud of our students’ achievements and seek to send them out into the world as well-rounded, confident and ambitious young people, prepared to serve the common good.

Our commitment to excellence in the arts, sport and work within the community, both at home and abroad are outstanding.  Our extended curriculum is deep and broad, enabling opportunities for all to enjoy and succeed.

As Bishop Richard Challoner reminds us, we endeavour to do ‘ordinary things extraordinarily well.’
