Invitation for young people to help shape Manydown development
Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council and Hampshire County Council are inviting young people with an interest in creating great places for people to live to get involved in the development of the Manydown garden community in a free four-day workshop this summer.
Offering an opportunity to contribute ideas on how Manydown should be developed, the workshop will be held in central Basingstoke from Monday 20 to Thursday 23 August between 10am and 3.30pm and is open to anybody aged between 13 and 21 interested in subjects such as architecture, urban planning, geography, sociology and psychology.
The workshop will include sessions on designing new places and creating communities. Participants will be able to choose a topic, carry out research and develop their own ideas on how to make the new Manydown development, west of Basingstoke, a great place to live.
Places on the free workshop are limited so those interested are urged to apply for a place, including up to 100 words on why they want to be part of the workshop to help us if we get more applications than places, via the website
